Vinci Facilities raise thousands for MWL NHS Charity with double fundraiser challenge

This year Vinci Facilities, who support the Estates and Facilities work that happens across areas of MWL, set themselves two gruelling challenges to raise vital funds for our MWL NHS Charity.

The first challenge was cycling from London to Paris, where Vinci’s Headquarters are based, in just 3 days, covering approximately 250 miles. The second challenge was completing 3 of the highest peaks in the Lake District in 24 hours; Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Skiddaw. Each one is over 900m high.

Congratulations to all staff involved in both challenges, who raised an incredible £7,000 for the Intensive Care Unit at Whiston Hospital. The funds raised will go towards purchasing essential medical equipment and further improving patient experience.

Liam Morrison, Facilities Manager, at Vinci said:

“I wanted to take a moment to express how much I enjoyed participating in the recent charity cycle ride. It was an incredible experience, not only because of the physical challenge and the camaraderie we shared, but also because of the profound impact we were able to make together.

"We are truly fortunate to have the opportunity to influence our workplace in such a positive way. The funds raised will significantly benefit the department and, more importantly, enhance patient care. Witnessing the direct benefits of our efforts is both inspiring and rewarding. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the events. Let’s continue to make a difference together!”
